Frequently Asked Questions

Who can go on this pilgrimage?

This trip is open to anyone who desires to go on pilgrimage in the footsteps of Saint Dominic—to his birthplace and to the place of the founding of the Dominican Order. Individuals and groups may register for this pilgrimage. We would like to encourage parishes and other groups to organize groups to go on pilgrimage.

Can my priest go?

Anyone can go on this pilgrimage.  For every 20 persons who sign up for the pilgrimage, one complimentary spot is available for a Dominican.  So, if a parish group can gather 20 people to go, they can have one Dominican go with them for free.  If they get 40 people, they can have two Dominicans go, etc.

How many people will be on this pilgrimage?

At least 40 people must register for this pilgrimage, but we are prepared to take as many as would like to go.  Groups will be organized together.

Are other dates available?

Because of the need for sufficient numbers and the desire for unity, we are encouraging everyone to sign-up for the one pilgrimage: June 2 – 9, 2016. However, Dominican priests with groups who have a conflict with this date should contact Corporate Travel at 313-565-8888 ext. 180

What countries do you visit on this pilgrimage?

The pilgrimage begins in Madrid, Spain and ends in Toulouse, France.  We visit Spain and France on this trip. There is an optional extension (for extra cost) to Italy, in the footsteps of Saint Dominic.

Can I extend my trip to Italy?

When registering for this pilgrimage, mark the box on the brochure labeled: “I am interested in an Italy extension,” if you want to place yourself on the list of those who would like to extend the Spain and France pilgrimage to Italy for an extra cost.

How many days is the Italy extension and how much does it cost?

Once we have a list of the number of people who desire the Italy extension, Corporate Travel will figure the length and cost.

What tour company are you using?

While there are many excellent Catholic travel companies to choose from, our pilgrimage is being organized by Corporate Travel.  Corporate Travel Service is owned and managed by a Catholic family, and they have more than forty-five years’ experience organizing travel, including many pilgrimages to Europe, with more than 20,000 people traveling with them last year. They come with an excellent reputation for organizing unforgettable Catholic pilgrimages.

How much does it cost to go on the pilgrimage?

The land only cost of the pilgrimage (with discounts for early payment, etc, which are itemized on the brochure) is $2, 099.00.  The land only cost includes certain expenses and some meals on the trip, but not all.  Corporate Travel also offers round-trip airfare.  The total cost of the trip with round-trip airfare from New York is $3, 899, for double occupancy. Please note that this price reflects: a $100 per person Early Booking Savings for deposits received eight months prior to departure, a $115 discount for those paying the total cost of the tour by cash or check. Pricing is based on a minimum of 40 paying passengers. There is a single supplement of $600 for those wishing a private, single room. Please see the brochure for more details.

Can I pay with credit card?

Yes, credit cards are accepted for payment. Corporate Travel is one of very few tour operators in the United States who have the financial stability to accept credit cards. This is not only convenient for you and your travelers, but it also gives you peace of mind and protection from default.

What is the cancelation policy?

For cancellations received in writing after deposit up to 150 days before departure, there will be a minimal $100 cancellation penalty.
